Bhimavaram: AICC Leader and former MP V Hanumantha Rao (VH) alleged that the Tuni arson incident was pre-planned and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s mastermind was behind the incident.

Addressing a media conference in Bhimavaram, the Congress leader said that the Government is oppressing the Kapu community to whom the TDP assured of inclusion into BC list. He questioned the TDP why it is showing vengeance against the Kapu community.

He said that Kapu leader and former Minister Mudragada Padmanabham has submitted the memorandum to the government to conduct a Padayatra. However, the Government of Andhra Pradesh felt it is an attack on the Government. “It is very clear the Government has brought the Tuni incident again on the screen and filing bind over cases. Not to worry about bind over cases.

The Kapu leader Mudragada asked you (Chandrababu) to implement what you assured during the election campaign after the bifurcation of the state. You made these promises to attract the 29 percent votes of the Kapu community to come to power. Mudragada is just asking to implement your promises.

The Padayatra is proposed on July 26. But the police officers are stopping all the people from July 23. They are checking every person. Asking to show the identity card. Are we in democracy or in a dictatorship?” VH questioned.

The senior Congress Leader has questioned the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu whether Kirlampudi is Kashmir and is Mudragada a terrorist or a traitor? He stated that during Congress regime when Kotla Vijayabhaskar Reddy was the Chief Minister, former Minister Mudragada had taken up a hunger strike.

Immediately Kotla issued a G.O.30 for the inclusion of Kapus in BC list. “After that TDP came to power and it put that GO in a cold storage. And again to come to power Chandrababu used the Kapu reservation card”, he criticised. When Mudragada is asking about implementation of the assurances of TDP, they are treating him like a terrorist, he declared.

Hanumantha Rao said that no one said about the Tuni incident, where a train was set ablaze and arson incidents took place. “I am now questioning the Government on Tuni incident. If hundreds of people sat on the tracks like Gujjars in Rajasthan and Jats in Haryana, how the train came to that place.

Normally whenever an accident takes place the officials stop the trains at the nearest station. In Tuni, there were hundreds of people on the track. Why the railway authorities did not stop the train either in Tuni railway station or at Payakaraopeta. They gave the signal for the train movement. Is it correct? “ asked Hanumantha Rao.
