Tirupati: People from Backward Class communities need not worry about reservations for Kapus. Even if Kapus are included in the BC list, they will be given a separate group without affecting the existing percentage of BC reservations, assured Transport, BC Welfare and Empowerment Minister K Atchannaidu.

Addressing a public meeting here in connection with the assuming charge by G Narasimha Yadav as Tirupati Urban Development Authority (TUDA) Chairman on Wednesday, the Minister said he and the Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu would not agree to any move against the interests of BC community. Referring to YSRCP chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy, Atchannaidu said no one in the history survived while trying to bring a feud between castes.

Alleging that YSRCP was behind Mudragada, he questioned, where is the need to go for a padayatra now when the Manjunatha Commission is going to submit its report soon?

As people were ignoring Mudragada, he wants to be in news and with the backing of YSRCP he is resorting to various agitations in a bid to create law and order problem in the State, the Minister said. The government is committed to the welfare of Kapus, he said and added the government set up Kapu Corporation with Rs 1,000 crore to uplift that community.

Stating the party would recognise the disciplined workers services, he said Narasimha Yadav is a best example for this. Yadav worked for the party with dedication for 35 years and finally got such an important post, he said and wished that TUDA Chairman and MLA should work together and develop the city so that the opposition parties could not dare to field their candidate in 2019 elections.

Minister for Industries N Amaranath Reddy said that TUDA has its jurisdiction in four constituencies of Tirupati, Sri Kalahasti, Chandragiri and Nagari and Narasimha Yadav has keyrole to play. He promised his cooperation to TUDA Chairman in developing the areas in all fronts.
