Vijayawada: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Hindu Dharma Parirakshana Samithi (HDPS) leaders staged a protest demanding that the government rebuild temples which were demolished at the time of Krishna Pushkaralu. They said that the CM had assured to allocate land to rebuild the temples.
Staging a protest at Dharna Chowk here on Friday, HDPS president Konakalla Vidyadhara Rao blamed the government for looking down the Hindu community by destroying the temples and assuring with false promises that they would rebuild the temples. He further said the government has no guts to touch other religious worship places and the government has no time to think of rebuilding the temples.
VHP city vice-president Durga Prasad Raju said all the Hindu community people must spare some time for the community and come on to roads to bring pressure on the government to remind their false commitments. He slammed the government for claiming that Hindu temples were the only hurdles for the development of city.
Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) city leader N Vinay Kumar warned the government that it should rebuild the demolished temples else the government would pay the price for it. He also sought return of Goshala land taken at the time of Krishna Pushkaralu and show lively hood for the them. He said that Pushkarulu were held grandly by demolishing the Hindu temples.
Patanjali Yoga State Board Director Sana Srinivas said that government at Centre and State was formed with Hindu votes and now the Hindu culture was betrayed. By August 15, he said the government has to rebuild Seetamma Padalu, Boddurai, Dhakshana Mukha Anjanaya temple, Bhugarbha Vinayaka temple and Goshala else on August 18 a Maha Dharna would be held. Religious leaders from various places participated.
