The State government issued orders on Tuesday shifting the CID office from Hyderabad to capital Amaravati, making it as the headquarters for the entire State of AP. It may be recalled that following the deadline fixed by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, except a few, almost all the wings of the Police Department shifted their headquarters from Hyderabad to Amaravati by June-end of 2016.

Though, the CID has also shifted its office to Vijayawada and was functioning from RTC Complex, the headquarters was still existing in Hyderabad. Following the orders by the government, all the police wings including CID office, have been completely shifted from Hyderabad.

According to a senior official from police department, almost all the Additional Director Generals of Police (ADGPs) and IGPs of different wings have shifted their base from Hyderabad to Amaravati and they are functioning from various locations, where their offices are located.

Soon all the police wings will be located at one place, where the new DGP office is under construction on the premises of APSP sixth battalion at Mangalagiri in Guntur district, he said. All the employees of DGP office from Hyderabad will be shifted to the newly building very shortly, he said.
