Police have recovered the body of doctor Surya Kumari, five days after she went missing in Vijayawada.

The police traced her body from Ryves lake at Gandhi Nagar on Saturday after locals informed that the doctor's bike was found near the lake.

With the body being in water for 3-4 days, it was totally decomposed. Reports suggest that the woman was posted as a doctor at Vissannapeta Public Health Centre at Telladevarapalli village and her sister Hepsiba Rani is an IAS officer in Karnataka.

Earlier this week, police arrested TDP's ex-MLA Bobbili Jayaraj's son Vidyasagar following a complaint filed by the deceased's parents who alleged that Vidyasagar kidnapped their daughter.

Vidyasagar's wife, meanwhile denied the allegations and told the media that Surya Kumari had asked her husband to marry her as she was infatuated with him but upon being rejected, she committed suicide.

The police also have found a text message in Surya Kumari's phone stating, "Bobbie (Vidya Sagar's nickname) I loved you so much and despite you saying no, I have been forcing you to marry me. My parents are planning to take me away from this place and might come after you. So be careful."
