The Third National Handloom day was celebrated at the Tummalapalli Kalakshetram here on Monday. Designers from Shubam had organised the handloom fashion show and ramp walk.The handloom designer collections and material was gathered from all the 13 districts of AP.

Transport ministerAtchannaidu, who attended the programme,said that the handloom fashion show was on par with international ramp walks and that promotional activities would be taken up to promote the handloom products at the international market.

Garments and saris from various districts were displayed.Cotton saris from Prakasam, designer wear from Krishna district, Payakarao peta cotton saris of Visakhapatnam, Gadwal silk and cotton saris from kurnool district, uppada saris and jandhada pattu from East Godavari, Nellore venkatagiri saris, Kadapa madhavaram saris, Ananthapuram district dharmavaram saris were the main attractions at the handloom day celebration. The richness of handloom products can only reach a bigger audience by organising such programmes at state and country level, said the minister.
