World’s best practices will help save Rupees 2,000 crore says Chief Minister
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu directed the officials to adopt world’s best practices to reduce the burden of charges on consumers. During a tele-conference with officials here on Sunday, he also said that the power saving measures would help to save Rs 2000 crore.

He asked the officials to provide the fruits of second phase power sector reforms, by not putting single paisa burden on the public in the forthcoming electricity tariff (2018-19).Naidu vowed to adopt people’s first policy to provide benefits to the common man by adopting global technologies in power sector.
He said Rs 2,000 crore can be saved by adopting the best practices in the areas of power generation, transmission, distribution and power purchases. This would also ensure providing cost-effective services to the consumers.
Reviewing on the impact of global technologies in the areas of solar, wind energy efficiency revolution, super critical boiler units in connection with high level meeting which to be held on August 8, the Chief Minister directed the officials of power sector to prepare a comprehensive short term action plan of 2 years, 4 years and long-term action plan of 8 years to provide the highest quality power supply at international standards at affordable prices.
“We should work out the strategy in such a way that it ensures economic sustainability for a minimum of 25 years to any entrepreneur or multinational companies (MNCs) which desire to establish their mega industries in AP,” he said. The CM specifically suggested to Energy Minister Kala Venkata Rao to create awareness programmes to enlighten people on the second phase of power sector reforms.
Satish Chandra, Special Chief Secretary to CM, G Saiprasad, Principal Secretary to CM, Ajay Jain, Principal Secretary, Energy and CRDA and K Vijayanand, CMD AP TRANSCO were also present.
