5 booked for grabbing MANSAS Trust land

Visakhapatnam: The Bheemili police filed a land grabbing case against five persons. The accused allegedly encroached 13.75 acres of land which belonged to Maharaja Alak Narayan Society of Arts and Science (MANSAS) Trust headed by Civil Aviation Minister P Ashok Gajapathi Raju.

The land is located at Nerellavalasa village in Bheemili mandal. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) which is probing into the land grabbing and encroachments cases in the district already noticed that some of the land records which belonged to MANSAS were tampered.

In-charge Executive Officer of MANSAS Trust K Ramachandra Mohan lodged a complaint against P Srinivasa Rao, R Venkataramana, A Gurumurty, P Balakrishna, P Sambasiva Rao and alleged that they have encroached the land and it was currently under their possession.

The EO also alleged that the accused created fake passbooks and documents to stake illegal claim of the land. When contacted, Bheemili Inspector Ch Balasurya Rao said that a case has been registered against the five accused. The land was registered in the name of the accused persons in 2005.

“The five accused are claiming that they have purchased the lands with valid documents. We have to check the records of both the parties to see if they match with the revenue records. The investigation is on,” the Inspector told The Hans India.
