Guntur: Minister for Civil Supplies Prathipati Pulla Rao said that the government is committed to the welfare of tribals . He addressed a meeting here on Wednesday to mark the World Aadivasi Day. Speaking on this occasion, he said that the government will protect the rights of the tribals.

He reminded that the government has already set up residential schools and colleges for tribals and ready to give lands to them. He urged them to avail the facilities being provided by the government.

District Collector Kona Sasidhar said they have already conducted a survey to know details of various tribes in the district to take steps to uplift them and reminded that the government is implementing schemes to send tribal students to abroad for higher education.

MLA Modugula Venugopala Reddy, additional joint collector M Venkateswara Rao were among those participated in the meeting.
