After a long gap, the Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA) has been taking up several major projects, including roads and satellite townships. During the past five years, the VUDA has not taken up new projects and concentrated to complete the old projects.

Visakhapatnam: After a long gap, the Visakhapatnam Urban Development Authority (VUDA) has been taking up several major projects, including roads and satellite townships. During the past five years, the VUDA has not taken up new projects and concentrated to complete the old projects.

According to the new plans, the VUDA is making arrangements to lay seven master plan roads at a cost of Rs 225.84 crore covering Pedamushidivada-Try Junction, Lankelapalem Extension of Junction-Sabbavaram Road to Nakkapalem, Visakha Valley School to Beach Road, Rushikonda Satellite Layout –Beach Road, Duvvada Railway Station to Kurmannapalem, Vepagunta-Cheemalapalle, Pinagadi Junction to Adavivaram Junction and Sontyam Road.

The VUDA spotted two sites in Yendada and Kapuluppada to develop two satellite townships. In Yedada, a township will be developed in 25 acres, while in Kapuluppada in 32 acres. The VUDA is preparing an action plan to take up land development projects at a cost of Rs 3,332 crore in Gambheeram, Gudilova, Malkapuram and Pedagantyada in 1,262 acres.

Bhimili to Bhogapuram Four Lane Road In order provide hassle free express highway to the air passengers, the VUDA is preparing plans to lay four-lane roads from Bhimili to Bhogapuram. Connecting the existing four-lane road from Vizag- Bhimili -Bhogapuram International Airport, the four-lane road will be laid on the beach front.
