The BJP is gaining strength in the State since it has regained power in the Centre in 2014, said party State president K Haribabu. He inaugurated party’s district office at ASN colony in Srikakulam on Sunday along with Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas, MLC PVN Madhav and MLA Vishnukumar Raju. Speaking on the occasion Haribabu pointed out that the BJP was getting more public support than earlier in south and particularly in AP.
He asked the party leaders and activists to explain on the BJP government’s assistance to AP and the welfare schemes introduced for the poor. Referring to the alliance with TDP in the State, Haribabu said both parties were maintaining cordial relations. He said efforts were being made to strengthen the BJP in AP. He clarified that the party’s high command would take a decision on the alliance for the 2019 general elections.
Kamineni Srinivas, Madhav and Vishnukumar Raju inaugurated separate rooms of the party office at Srikakulam. Party district leaders P Venugopalam, P Tirupathi Rao and K Narayana Rao were present.
Meanwhile speaking to reporters in Kakinada, BJYM State president S Vishnuvardhan Reddy exuded confidence that the BJP would fare well in Andhra Pradesh in the next general elections.
He said that the BJYM was trying to strengthen its cadre in the State by inducting 20 lakh youth into the Yuva Morcha. He informed that by using social media platforms, youth attracted to Modi’s administration were being enrolled into the party.
He lambasted the CPM and alleged that their ministers were involved in the murders of BJP activists in Kerala. He said that the BJP and BJYM leaders would stage a protest against the Kerala government in Kottayam on October 15.
Vishnuvardhan Reddy condemned the attack by CPM leaders on BJP activists in Visakhapatnam on Saturday. He demanded that the government should take measures according to the law against the CPI and CPM leaders who were involved in the attacks on BJP leaders in Visakhapatnam.
He said that the State government was lagging behind in creating job opportunities. He urged the TDP government to fill all the backlog posts in the State. He also pointed out that the petrol and diesel prices in the State were high when compared to other neighbouring States.
He also said that they would ask the State government to lessen the VAT on petrol and diesel prices in the State. District Yuva Morcha president Akula Sridhar, East Godavari BJP president Y Mala Kondayya, district BJYM secretary Chakravarthi and other leaders were present.
