5.41 lakh houses sanctioned under Prime Minister Awas Yojana: Bharatiya Janata Party

The State-level executive committee meeting of the party was held here on Tuesday. Party State president K Haribabu said the BJP is committed to eradicate the poverty in the country and the recently announced ‘Soubhagya’ scheme will bring light into every hut.
The meeting passed resolution stating that the BJP is committed to the constitutional status for OBC Commission. The party pointed out that over 5.41 lakh houses have been sanctioned to AP under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) and it constituted 20.71 per cent of total houses sanctioned in the country.
And the farmers of the State were immensely deriving benefit from the PM Fasal Bima Scheme and the Centre recently launched the ‘e-Nam’ system for the vulnerable farmers.
Haribabu said Modi government was very keen to develop infrastructure in the State by adding 3,720 km of roads to the existing ones and develop water route to a stretch of 1,078 km.
The BJP meeting described GST and demonetisation as biggest economic reforms introduced in the history of the nation. It urged the TDP government in the State to reduce VAT. The BJP resolved to strengthen the booth-level committees by holding regular meetings at mandal-level and district-level in AP.
State BJP leaders resolved to take part in the protest programmes in Kollam district of Kerala against the violence being perpetrated by the Communist parties in the State.
The BJP activists will take part in Run for Unity on October 31 to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Senior party leaders D Purandeswari, Kavuri Sambasiva Rao, Endowments Minister P Manikyala Rao, MLC Somu Veerraju, former minister Kanna Lakshminarayana and other leaders took part in the meeting.
