Nellore: Long-standing enemies in education sector who recently joined hands for running their corporate institutions across the state have again started their old animosities attacking each other with scathing criticism and police cases.
Nellore-based Narayana and Vijayawada-based Sri Chaitanya have started their war of words again regarding shifting of some students from Narayana to Sri Chaitanya recently where a kidnap case under IPC 363 was lodged in local I Town police station. Police officials were also tight-lipped on developments as Narayana Group Institutions are owned by Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana.
The verbal dual started between two senior officials of the institutions as the act was criticised by Narayana as CHINA (shortened form of Chaitanya-Narayana combined institutions after tie-up) institutions had shifted their students irregularly offering huge bucks. “My son Fazil Ahmed has been studying SSC in Narayana-Dhanalakshmipuram branch.
Dean of Sri Chaitanya Colleges Ramesh had taken away my son after convincing him that he would join him the CHINA batch in Hyderabad. After enquiry, I had found that it was not CHINA batch. I asked the management to send my son back and lodged a complaint against Sri Chaitanya management with the police,” said SkRiyaz, a parent of Fazil.
According to sources, Sri Chaitanya had allegedly lured DTeja Kiran andMdFazil Ahmed, who were studying Class Xin Dhanalakshmipuram IIT Olympiad School for the last six years for giving admission in their coaching programme. These students are good in studies and were considered as top-graded in IIT programme, as per evaluation of Narayana management.
General Manager of Narayana Educational Institutions VVijaya Bhaskar Reddy, who interacted with media, blamed Sri Chaitanya Educational Institutions management for taking away best students from their institutions during Diwali holidays to showcase good performance of these merit students.
“Assistant General Manager Parthasarathy of Sri Chaitanya Institutions picked up the students from their houses during Diwali holidays offering them to join ‘CHINA’ institution in Hyderabad branch,” said VVijaya Bhaskar Reddy.
Refuting the allegations made by GM of Narayana, Director of Sri Chaitanya Institutions Sushma Chowdary said hereon Fridaythat Narayana Institutions had targeted their institutions and wilfully damaging their reputation. Sushma alleged that a complaint was lodged against their staff members Lingala Ramesh and T Parthasarathy with baseless allegations by Narayana.
“We are facing troubles with the management of Narayana for a few years. They have been harassing us without having competitive spirit,” said Sushma of Sri Chaitanya. We won’t disturb the present running batches of CHINA and the same faculty would continue to batches and hope that students would get good ranks in IIT, she added.
“SkRiyaz from Chakali Street had lodged a complaint against Sri Chaitanya Institutions in Nellore I Town police station that the staff of college had taken away their son SkFazil Ahmed to join the CHINA institutions in Hyderabad. A case is under investigation,” said M R V Murali, Nellore City DSP.Now, some staff members named in the case were reportedly taken into custody for investigation.
