Kurnool: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) district president Somisetty Venkateswarlu lashed out at YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president YS Jaganmohan Reddy for not showing concern for the welfare of backward class communities. He stated that Jaganmohan Reddy’s padayatra would reap no benefit to him.

The TDP leader, addressing a press conference at party office here on Friday, said that several BC community people in Pulivendula area had suffered a lot in the hands of YS Raja Reddy, the grandfather of Jaganmohan Reddy. Somisetty challenged Jagan and asked “can you help those BC families who had suffered in the hands of your grandfather?”. First help them and take up padayatra to do justice to other BC families, he stated.

The atrocities of YS Raja Reddy on BC community could never be forgotten, he said. The TDP leader alleged that inner intention of YS Jagan's padayatra is nothing but to save his remaining MLAs by involving them in the programme or else they would defect to TDP.

YS Jagan would never become chief minister as people of Andhra Pradesh have lost faith in him and are more attracted to TDP as the party is committed to its promises made to the people. He said that Chief Minister, N Chandrababu Naidu is an irresistible leader. Development in Nandyal is due to the efforts of Chandrababu.

This padayatra is going to the last one to Jagan because at any time he would be arrested and sent to jail. Jagan did not mend his attitude even after facing gross insult at Nandyal by-election and Kakinada civic polls.

Already, people have taught him a good lesson and are also waiting to teach him a befitting lesson in the next general elections, Somisetty said. Telugu Yuvatha district president BAK Pervez, cultural wing district president V Hanumantharao Chowdary, Telugu Mahila district president K Parvatamma and others were present.
