The city is gearing up for hosting ‘Sounds on Sand’, the first of its kind music festival at the RK Beach on November 11 and 12. Popular singers in the country, including Asees Kaur, Usha Uthup, Indian Idol winner LV Revanth, Leslie Lewis and Mohammed Irfan, Baiju Dharmajan, Vijay Hegde and Ameya Dabli, will be performing at the high voltage musical festival. 

Visakhapatnam: The city is gearing up for hosting ‘Sounds on Sand’, the first of its kind music festival at the RK Beach on November 11 and 12. Popular singers in the country, including Asees Kaur, Usha Uthup, Indian Idol winner LV Revanth, Leslie Lewis and Mohammed Irfan, Baiju Dharmajan, Vijay Hegde and Ameya Dabli, will be performing at the high voltage musical festival.

“We are sure, with ‘Sounds on Sand’ music festival, the audience will have a great time. As part of the fest, the two city-based local bands ‘Echo and Kairoz’ and ‘The Vizag Chamber Choir’ will perform in the event,” said Collector Pravin Kumar. The fete would give a chance for the local talent to interact with renowned singers and participate in the workshops, he said.

AP Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) Executive Director RS Naidu said that APTDC the city will be hosting a series of festivals from November to February to increase the inflow of visitors to Vizag, Araku Valley and many others places in the region.

As the entry for the festival is free, the organisers are expecting a large number of music lovers from various parts of the country as well as the foreign visitors.

According to Collector Pravin Kumar, the administration has chalked out plans to organise Hot Air Balloon Festival from November 14 to 16 in Araku Valley. It is expected that nearly 14 countries will be taking part in the festival, which is likely to draw a huge crowd from several parts of the country to the valley, Pravin Kumar said.
