Chittoor: Along with regular uniform duties, the district police are doing many social service activities. Recently, they have arranged a charity wall for poor patients and attendants at Government General Hospital (GGH) here. District Superintendent of Police (SP) SV Rajasekhar Babu came up with an idea of setting up charity wall. The SP directed the city police wing to arrange a charity wall near police outpost at GGH.

The police personnel have erected a shelter with three refrigerators with the help of donors to preserve vegetables and other eatables, and few steel racks for keeping the clothes, cooking oil, grains, rice, children toys, books, pens and other items. The main aim of the charity wall is to support poor patients and attendants, who are coming to GGH for medical treatment.

They can take away eatables, clothes or other items from the charity wall free of cost. The police officials called upon the public to donate food, clothes or any other things for serving the poor people. If any leftover food at marriages or at other functions can be donated to the charity wall. The local police will pick up the food and other eatables if they are in huge quantity from the donor’s place or from function halls.

Three days ago, Rayalaseema Range IG SM Iqbal had inaugurated the charity wall and appreciated the initiative of District SP. A donor can inform about donation of things or food items through Whatsapp number 9440900005, informed SP.
