Amaravati: A day after expressing displeasure over the letters on Polavaram from the Union government, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu directed his party legislators not to make any serious comments against the BJP, as it is their ally both in the State and at the Centre.

“This is an issue between two governments but not between two political parties TDP and BJP,” he observed at the Telugu Desam Legislative Party meeting held at the State Assembly in Amaravati on Friday.Naidu informed the party MLAs and MLCs that he would soon discuss the Polavaram issue with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Water Resources Minister Nitin Gadkari.

The Chief Minister exuded confidence that the TDP would secure easy victory in the next elections to the State Assembly. He said his goal was to further reduce the seats of the Opposition party. Reacting on the clashes within the ruling party between two groups led by MLC Karanam Balaram and MLA Gottipati Ravi Kumar in Prakasam district, Chandrababu Naidu warned the party leaders not to indulge in clashes and promote groupism within the party.

He suggested to the party leaders to coordinate and cooperate with the leaders who recently joined the TDP. Ravi Kumar defected to the TDP from YSRCP, contested and won Addanki Assembly seat over Balaram’s son Venkatesh in the last general elections.

The Chief Minister also informed the party leaders that there would be no hike in power tariff. He said the government would encourage farmers to utilise solar energy in agriculture sector. This would also bring down the demand for energy, the Chief Minister pointed out. Naidu said solar energy up to 40 MW can be generated in Anantapur district.

The Chief Minister also said that reforms would be introduced in the education sector to improve confidence among the students in schools and colleges and prevent suicides.

Naidu said there was a good response from people to Intintinki Telugu Desam programme. He asked the party legislators to further improve their working style. He advised them to utilise technology to simplify administrative procedures.
