Srikakulam: A woman was arrested by Srikakulam Two Town police on Saturday for trying to sell two babies.
According to district child protection officer (DCPO) of Integrated Child Protection Scheme KV Ramana, a businessman’s wife A Radha was acting as a mediator to to sell infants at a price of Rs 8 lakh for baby boy and Rs 6 lakh for baby girl.
On receiving information, police and Integrated Child Protection Scheme staff conducted a detailed inquiry and approached the woman by pretending to purchase the babies. On Saturday, they arrested the woman and recovered babies from her and sent them to Sisugruha. Police registered case against her.
