Nellore: Demanding to conduct Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) through offline, DSC aspirants led by Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) staged a protest in front of the Collectorate here on Saturday. Earlier, the activists took out a huge rally in the city from V R College circle to Collectorate raising slogans demanding extension of the examination date.

Speaking to media, DYFI district president U Prasad said majority aspirants would face difficulties if TET is conducted through online mode. Though the government had announced DSC-2018, now aspirants are in dilemma as there is only one-month time for preparation, he said demanded extension of examination date.

He also appealed to government to provide another chance to students of DIET who are studying in 2016-18 batch. The DYFI leader asked the government to revise the notification to increase the number of posts. If the government conducts the TET through online some candidates feel it easy and others sense tough, he added.

The examination to be conducted through offline for more transparency, said the DYFI district president. They submitted a memorandum to Joint Collector–2 VVS Reddy requesting extension of examination date for another two months. DYFI district leaders P Ramu, Sk Fayaz, B Narasimha and K Babu were present.
