Amaravati: President Ram Nath Kovind visited APCRDA gallery at the Secretariat here on Wednesday which was arranged to explain on various development works.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Principal Secretary Ajay Jain explained to the President about the land acquisition scheme, Amaravati capital city planning, designs of iconic buildings and proposed seven cities in the capital city. President asked details about creation of public infrastructure in capital, population in the capital city area and master plan of the new city.

Ajay Jain explained about the designs for Assembly, High Court and Secretariat that were submitted by Norman and Foster. He said the present population in capital city area was one lakh and it could reach 3.5 million by 2050.

He also said 59,000 plots had been given to the farmers as part of land pooling scheme. The gallery included the details such as the historical significance of Amaravati, the efforts of the State government to transform it into an ultramodern world-class capital city, various models of Infrastructural facilities such as roads and buildings, Sakhamuru Park, Assembly, High Court and other government buildings.

The President also enquired about the plans to construct blue and green capital city. Ajay Jain said that 30 per cent of total area in Amaravati would be reserved for greenery. The CRDA exhibited 3D models of iconic buildings and made a special presentation on LED screens on designs. Municipal Administration Minister P Narayana and CRDA Commissioner Ch Sreedhar were also present.
