Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Srikakulam Region officials unearthed disproportionate assets of a Deputy Executive Engineer (DEE) Balivada Krishna Kumar of Tribal Welfare Department in Srikakulam on Friday.

Currently, the accused officer is working at Pathapatnam sub-division under Sitampeta ITDA limits in Srikakulam. After making detailed inquiries, ACB officials conducted surprise raids at Pathapatnam office and also at the house of the accused in Burma Colony in Balaga area in Srikakulam city and in Rajam town in Srikakulam district, Garividi town in Vizianagaram district, Visakhapatnam and Guntur simultaneously.
According to ACB Srikakulam DSP K Rajendra Kumar and a press release from ACB DG’s office, the accused DEE, Krishna Kumar joined in Tribal Welfare department as AE in 2005 at ITDA Parvathipuram in Vizianagaram district. He got promotion in 2009 as DEE and was shifted to Paderu ITDA in Visakhapatnam; he was shifted to Parvathipuram in 2012 and worked there till 2017 May and later he was transferred to Pathapatnam in May this year.
ACB officials concluded that the DEE acquired assets worth over Rs 1.61 crore (document value). They found documents relating to house sites and apartments at Madhuravada in Visakhapatnam, Bhogauram and Parvathipuram in Vizianagaram and some sites in the name of the DEE’s father B Sudarsana Rao at Rajam, gold ornaments and cash. As per open market value the worth of unearthed assets is estimated at Rs 8 crore. The accused DEE was arrested and produced before the judge of the special court for trial of ACB cases in Visakhapatnam in the evening.
