Anantapur: The 23-day Praja Sankalpa Yatra of YSRCP supremo YS Jaganmohan Reddy covering 600 km and touching 9 Assembly constituencies and 176 villages in 8 mandals has boosted the morale of the desperate party workers.

Interacting with the media on Wednesday before leaving the district to Chittoor, the YSRCP chief asserted that the thousands of people, who met him and interacted with him had reflected their anger and disappointment with Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for letting them down.

They also expressed determination to vote out the betrayer's government, he revealed. The YSRCP president had succeeded in impressing the crowds, who thronged to his walkathon to see him. The momentum generated by the padayatra of YS Jagan will be preceded by a 'Bus Yatra' which will be a run up to the general and Assembly elections.

Speaking to The Hans India, Uravakonda MLA Vishveshwara Reddy believes that the people too were undeterred by the actions of the betrayers, who deserted the party and Jaganmohan Reddy at a crucial time in politics. The people, he said, had asked YS Jagan to ignore the betrayers as they were determined to vote the YSRCP to power.

Kankatala Sreenivas, a village sarpanch in Kadiri mandal says that the Chief Minister’s promise to include Kapus in BCs and Valmiki caste in ST category would boomerang as the Assembly resolutions by themselves do not have legal sanctity. They would have constitutional status only when the Parliament passes the bills and makes them into a law. Naidu cannot deceive the people by mere announcements.

The YSRCP chief had always put up a cheerful face despite being worn out by the scorching sun and talking to hundreds of people while walking. He never lost his cool even when people literally pushed him left and right in a bid to shake hands with him. He showered his love and affection on women, who clamoured to touch him and have a feel of their ‘Jagan Anna'.

Political observers believe that the padayatra would improve prospects of the YSRCP and increase tally of the party in Rayalaseema. A PG student Vijay Kumar, who claimed to have observed the Praja Sankalpa Yatra in the district and its impact on the people, says that although things at the outset appear to be outwardly in favour of TDP in the state, Jaganmohan Reddy's victory in elections like the victory of Donald Trump cannot be ruled out.

He maintains that there could be many surprises for TDP, Jana Sena and even the YSRCP in 2019 elections. No matter what would be the scenario in 2019, the Praja Sankalpa Yatra did make an impact on the people by and large as Jagan's speeches were thought provoking to the common man.
