Earlier, Girvani and other TDP leaders have offered tributes to NT Rama Rao by garlanding his statue here on Thursday, on his death anniversary.

Addressing the party workers, Girvani gave a call to party workers to follow the footsteps of the NT Rama Rao. The TDP founder played a vital role in the national politics, she stated and said that the Rama Rao had strived for women empowerment.

TDP district president P Nani stated that he was the biggest fan of NT Rama Rao from his college days. TDP MLC B N Rajasimhulu recalled that the NT Rama Rao used to maintain close relations with the district. “I have joined the TDP by heeding to the call given by Rama Rao,” he said. City Mayor K Hemalatha, Deputy Mayor P Subramanyam, Marketing Committee Chairman M Mohan and others were present.

Tributes paid to NTR

The TDP leaders paid floral tributes to former Chief Minister NT Rama Rao here on Thursday. City MLA Suguna, Telugu Yuvatha district president Sridhar Varma, party city president Dumpuri Bhaskar Yadav and other leaders have garlanded the NTR statue at Town Club Centre here.

The TDP leaders recalled the services of the NT Rama Rao. Later, the MLA and other party leaders have served food to poor in Annadanam programme organised at NTR Circle in Tirupati.

NTR remembered

Rich tributes were paid to Telugu Desam Party (TDP) founder president and late Chief Minister Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao on his 22nd death anniversary across the district on Thursday. The party leaders have garlanded the statue of NT Rama Rao and organised blood donation camps and Annadanam programmes.

In Kadapa city, TDP district president R Srinivasa Reddy and party leaders have garlanded the statue of NT Rama Rao and offered tributes to him. Speaking on the occasion, Srinivasa Reddy recalled that Rama Rao had introduced various welfare schemes for the uplift of poor including Rs 2-a-kg.

Party district chief said that the state government headed by N Chandrababu Naidu has been implementing various welfare schemes for poor like late Chief Minister NT Rama Rao. He gave a call to party functionaries to strive hard to popularise welfare schemes among masses. TDP district secretary K Hari Prasad and other party leaders were present.
