Vijayawada: The first ever domestic violence case registered in the state against a wife by her husband ended on a positive note on Wednesday. The respondent wife attended the court along with the husband and informed the magistrate that they would live together in harmony.

The magistrate recorded the statement of the both petitioner and respondent, the wife, and dismissed the petition. It may be recalled that Gogu Ram Kumar had filed a petition through senior advocate Puppala Srinivasa Rao in a city complaining that his wife cheated him by not informing about her first marriage and divorce and also had been harassing him for money since their marriage in August 2017.

The First additional chief metropolitan magistrate court took up the case and decided to summon the petitioner the husband and respondent the wife on February 21. Due to some reasons, the magistrate had summoned the duo on Wednesday before the fixed date.

The respondent also immediately engaged an advocate on Wednesday morning. Later, the couple attended in the court and informed the magistrate that they would live together and the husband said he would withdraw the petition. Consequently, the magistrate dismissed the petition.
