Hyderabad: The Executive Officer of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) has informed to the High Court at Hyderabad that the CEO of Sree Venkateshwara Bhakti Channel (SVBC) A V Narasimha Rao has been relieved from his duties and in his place, a retired IAS officer has been entrusted with the responsibility of running the channel until a new person is appointed.

This was informed to the division bench comprising of Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice K Vijayalakshmi by the standing counsel of TTD Balaji Vaddera on Tuesday during the hearing of a PIL petition filed by a devotee P Naveen Kumar Reddy alleging corruption in the channel and challenging the appointment of A V Narasimha Rao as CEO.

The bench had taken a serious view on this issue during the last hearing and in that context the Standing Counsel of TTD informed the bench that the CEO has been relieved. He also informed that further action against the CEO will be taken after the reports of Vigilance inquiry are shown to a Chartered Accountant and his opinion is sought. The bench wanted the counsel to inform about this aspect in the next hearing and adjourned the case.
