Pandemonium in Parliament hangs the Fate of Andhra Pradesh
Pandemonium in parliament is becoming a routine now days. Both opposition and treasury benches are mocking the responsibility kept on them by the nation of 125 crore people.
Pandemonium in parliament is becoming a routine now days. Both opposition and treasury benches are mocking the responsibility kept on them by the nation of 125 crore people. Huge public money is being wasted by not allowing the parliament to function. Budget and various financial and other important bills are guillotined in this session which is a nothing but huge compromise. Elected representatives are simply relinquishing themselves from being watchdogs of democracy. Nobody bothered about the consequences of skipping the debate on budget. Several sectors on allocations to important sectors such as agriculture, railways, centre state sharing issues are need to be debated since this is the final year budget of this government which is responsible for major economic changes such as demonetization, GST introduction, replacing of planning commission with Niti Ayog, reforms in RBI so on.
Government on one hand is promising that we are ready for discussion and debate on any issue but its parliamentary affairs ministers are not pro active to reach out to the opposition and settle the terms for smooth functioning of sessions. Similarly even opposition benches are divided party wise and state wise and reaching the well with placards and slogan shouting which making the house noisy and out of order. TDP and YSRCP who are adamant on taking up the no confidence motion need to work hard with other political parties and take them into confidence so that discussion can take place in the house. Both the parties in Andhra Pradesh first should have a common voice and express unity in resolving the special category status in parliament. People of other states cannot be expected to work with you if ruling and opposition parties within the state are not in concurrence. It is time now to rise above the party lines for the interest of the state. But that does not seem to be the case now. TDP on the other hand being a ruling party has to talk to neighbouring state of Telangana before introduction of no confidence motion to gather support. The high handed approach of Chandrababu Naidu is making things difficult to garner support of other states. It’s very important for Babu to visit and meet heads of all other political parties and take their promise to support the state bifurcation injustice. Toured 29 times to Delhi to meet PM who has not delivered what he and state is expected, what’s wrong in touring one more time to meet opposition parties to achieve the goal?
There is a need even for the central government to look up on the sentiment of the Andhra Pradesh people who lost so much due to hurried bifurcation. Andhra Pradesh is devoid of capital, railway zone, fully equipped international airports, infrastructure, major irrigation projects, congenial environment for installing new industries and investment. Modi government should not follow the lines of what congress government has done to the Andhra Pradesh. In the absence of constructive understanding between centre and state ruling parties the fate of capital construction and Polavaram project’s future looks jeopardised. Henceforth it’s time to make a joint action committee taking all parties into confidence and fight with centre to achieve the goal.
Its sheer wrong on the part of TDP to resort to blame game on centre , YSRCP, Pavan Kalyan so on., rather it should take the lead to unite all for the common good cause of achieving special category status to Andhra Pradesh. People are clever enough to recognise who worked for their benefit and vote them in 2019 elections.
