Tirupati: AP is the cultural hub of our country and Tirupati is the ideal pilgrimage place of our country, said founder of Art of Living Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.
Addressing the gathering at S V University Tarakarama Stadium here on Saturday as part of World Spiritual Fest, he said that like Varanasi, Gaya and other places Tirupati has been fast developing as an educational hub also apart from pilgrimage hub.
He said when anybody asks where is God the immediate question should be where the God is not. The divine is present in our hearts only, he stressed. Everyone is having bubbling energy in them, Sri Sri said.
“When you go to Tirumala hills your metabolism changes and while you are nearing God you go into meditation. Our inner energy will change into positive energy,” he said. Chanting is good in many ways. Scientists say that chanting is a good way of healing. Even in New York, people go to parlours for chanting. To find out inner energy, Yoga marg and meditation marg are there, he asserted.
Some children performed Pragna Yoga on the occasion. Earlier, Art of living troupes performed Bhajans and Sankeerthanas with devotion.
Annamayya Sankeerthana Kacheri was conducted by noted singer Kondaveeti Jyothirmai Choudary who took the audience into a different world with her melodious singing. District Collector P S Pradyumna felicitated Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.
In the morning, Yoga and meditation camp was organised at Shilparamam. Art of Living, Tirupati unit organised the programme. Yoga trainer Durga who came from Vijayawada explained the participants the benefits they will derive by practicing yoga regularly. In the changing scenario, several changes have come up in the lifestyle of people. To cope up with impatience and mental stress, Yoga works well.
She trained the participants on various Asanas. Another trainer Kanchi Raghuram said everyone should practice yoga for keeping a fit body and meditation for a peaceful mind. They also conducted ‘Nadi Vaidyam’ to the people.
