Tirupati: The Red Sander Anti-Smuggling Task Force Police launched a six-day massive combing operation on Friday at Mamanduru forest area of Seshachalam Reserve forest to prevent the Tamil Nadu smugglers. A total of 600 trainee constables with arms are going to participate in the six- day special operation. Main objective of this operation is to prevent the movement of Tamil Nadu Javadimali smugglers who belong to Malayali tribe community.

Along with the regular task force personnel, trainee constables were deputed to nab the red sander smugglers. IG of AP Forest Task Force M Kantha Rao has planned to utilise the man power of Police Training College to practical operations.

Kantha Rao, addressing the police force, has said that police have to be ready to face many threats from the smugglers, snakes and also wild animals in the forest area as part of their duty. They have to participate in forest search operations with much alertness, the IG said.

Later, SP Ravi Sankar gave the guide lines to newly recruited police over how they have to behave in the forest on duty, and explained the do’s and don’ts.. In the mean while, taskforce and trainee constables are conducting operations jointly for red sander smugglers. Every day, they will go for above six km by walk from the base camp Mamanduru and also from Pulibonu beats.

Task force officials deployed the additional forces in all the vulnerable places of red sander smuggling in the Seshachalam forest. Speaking to the Hans India, IG Kantha Rao informed that it is a good opportunity for trainee constables to learn the forest operations and tactics to prevent the red sander smugglers and other anti-social elements.
