Vijayawada: Rajya Sabha member from Uttar Pradesh and BJP national spokesperson G V L Narasimha Rao said that the Andhra Pradesh government was getting funds from the NDA government for completing five projects under the Special Package (SP) and seven projects were in pipeline, but Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was demanding Special Category Status despite this.

He advised AP Pratyeka Hoda, Vibhajana Hameela Sadhana Samithi (APPHVHSS) leaders, members and other political parties to hold dharnas in front of AP Chief Minister’s home as the government was getting funds from the NDA government under package but not accounting for them.

Addressing the media at BJP state office here on Tuesday, Narasimha Rao reminded that the state government received Rs 12,072 crore under special package for completing AP Disaster Recovery Project, AP Rural Inclusive Growth Project, Visakhapatnam-Chennai Industrial Corridor Development programme, AP Drought Mitigation Project and uninterrupted power.

He said that seven project costing Rs 17,236 crore were in pipeline under special package in AP. As many as 104 projects were approved out of 572 projects to AP by the NDA government, he claimed.

The BJP leader alleged that the TDP leaders were indulging filmy style politics in the state due to insecurity and the Chief Minister had changed the NDA government schemes into scams. The BJP leaders would expose the TDP government’s corruption before the people.

He reiterated that the BJP-led NDA government would establish steel plant at Kadapa and would also set up a railway zone in Visakhapatnam. Union minister for road transport and highways Nitin Gadkari would visit Polavaram project site between July 11 to 13, he added.
