Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is going to inaugurate the second phase of house warming programme at Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium in Vijayawada on July 5. The Chief Minister will have a conversation with beneficiaries during the meeting to get feedback on implementation of the housing scheme.

During a review meeting with Managing director of Housing Corporation Kantilal Dande and project directors of AP Housing Corporation Limited at the Secretariat on the arrangements of house warming programme, Minister for Rural Housing Kalava Srinivasulu said the house warming programme would be organised in 174 constituencies including 12,767 gram panchayats and 2,093 municipal wards covering 664 mandals and 110 municipalities in the State.

He said the second phase of the housing warming festival should be conducted on a grand note by involving large number of public representatives. Officials at all levels should focus to make this programme a grand success.

The Minister said the State government had set a target to complete 10 lakh houses by 2019. Stating that the government has been maintaining transparency in housing projects by introducing cashless transactions, Sirnivasulu said the amount was being credited online to the respective beneficiaries’ accounts. He said peoples’ participation was more in housing scheme.

He said the State government liberalised several rules to make the housing scheme people-friendly and provided additional financial assistance to beneficiaries.

The Minister said the house warming programme would be held for three lakh houses including 19,792 in Srikakulam district, 16,645 in Vizianagaram, 29,625 in Visakhapatnam, 37,207 in East Godavari, 27,710 in West Godavari, 20109 in Krishna, 24,767 in Guntur, 19,655 in Prakasm, 19,047 in Nellore district, 20,888 in Chittoor district, 15,891 in Kadapa, 24,422 in Anantapur and 30,345 houses in Kurnool district.
