Delay in execution of works irks Collector Kona Sasidhar
District Collector and GMC Special Officer Kona Sasidhar has directed the officials to speed up execution of development works in the city.
Guntur: District Collector and GMC Special Officer Kona Sasidhar has directed the officials to speed up execution of development works in the city.
Expressing ire over the delay in the execution of the works, he said that though he was giving permission to take up crores of rupees worth of works, officials were not acting fast to finish the works.
He directed the officials to complete the works which were in progress within the stipulated time. He reviewed works sanctioned and instructed the officials to stop salaries of AE Ramana and Ramesh Babu and issue notices to them.
He instructed to start works for which permission was granted within four days. He warned that he would not tolerate delay in execution of the works.
He directed Commissioner Srikesh B Lathkar to keep a watch on contractors who were delaying the works.
The Collector wanted works relating to drinking water scheme and UGD should be taken up at a fast pace.
Officials of the various departments were present.
