A woman attempted suicide, along with three children, by dousing their bodies with petrol at Nagarampalem Police Station here on Tuesday. Those who noticed them prevented her in attempting suicide.
Guntur: A woman attempted suicide, along with three children, by dousing their bodies with petrol at Nagarampalem Police Station here on Tuesday. Those who noticed them prevented her in attempting suicide.
According to police, Vankayalapati Aruna Kumari, who hails from Sattenaplalli, was residing under Nagaramapalem police station limits. It is learnt that her husband Jesu Das had deserted her due to family disputes.
Since then, she was seeking her share in the property of her parents. Recently, she demanded her mother to give share in the property after the death of her father, but her brothers rejected to give share in the property.
Therefore, she approached Guntur Urban Superintendent of Police Ch Vijaya Rao to render justice who referred the issue to Sattenapalli police. Hence, she went to meet the Collector, but the staff did not allow her to meet the Collector.
Vexed with life, She, along with children, climbed Gurram Jashuva statue near Nagaramalem Police Station and doused their bodies with kerosene and tried to set ablaze. But passersby, who noticed incident, stopped her attempt. On receiving information, police shifted her, along with children, to Nagarampalem Police Station.
