Amaravati: YSR Congress Party student wing held statewide ‘DEO Muttadi’ (siege of District Education Offices) in all 13 districts on Thursday. The protests witnessed a turnout of party student wing leaders, youth leaders, students and party leaders displaying banners, flags and placards and raising slogans against failures of TDP government in distribution of textbooks and uniforms in government schools on time.

The student wing leaders along with party leaders submitted a memorandum at their respective DEO offices. The ‘DEO Muttadi’ is part of the party campaign to highlight TDP failures, the YSR Congress party said.

YSRC’s student wing president Salam Babu leading the Muttadi at Prakasam district DEO office, said, “This is an irresponsible act by the state government and it has no accountability.

School year has started and it is unfortunate that the students and parents have to suffer because of a lapse of the government. Our request to the government is to not to play with the future of our kids. The issue needs to be resolved at the swiftest means else YSRCP will take this protests to the next level in the state”.

He said that all the DEO offices in the state were besieged in protest against the TDP government’s failures in education sector in providing basic amenities like lights, fans, and separate toilets for girls and boys, setting up of primary school for every 1 km and upper primary school for every 3 Km.

The party leadership, coordinators and district units of frontal organisations led the DEO march. As part of the protest, party supporters and sympathisers wore plain black ribbons as arm bands to show the failure of the TDP government.
