Tadepalligudem: MLA Pydikondala Manikyala Rao called upon the student to take initiative to clean their school premises as part of Swachh Bharat.
He participated in Swachh Bharat along with other leaders of BJP and members of walkers association at Pasala Krishnamurthy Memorial Municipal High School here on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLA expressed concern that the school buildings were getting damaged because of poor maintenance.
Accumulation of dry leaves and garbage on the roof of the buildings was resulting in stagnation of water. As a result, the slabs were leaking and cracks were developing.
He cleaned top of the school building and allowed the rainwater to flow into drain. He also encouraged the participants to clean backyard of the school.
Former municipal chairman Tataji, floor leader Nagababu and others also take part in the programme.
The school headmistress, B Jyoti joined the MLA in the cleaning of the school. He suggested her to appeal to municipal commissioner to demolish the dilapidated toilets on the school premises.
