Bapatla: “Town Hall here is the nerve center of the town and gave birth to many movements. The concept of linguistic state policy was developed from here in 1913.

The call for separate Telugu State for people of Andhra was made louder and stronger from this venue,” said Associate Dean of Agricultural College Dr D Lokanadha Reddy.

He was speaking at the 113th anniversary of historical Town Hall on Tuesday. The function was organised under the aegis of Forum For Better Bapatla. He garlanded the statue of 'Telugu Talli' at Town Hall on this occasion.

The Tahsildar of Bapatla, T Vallaiah said that the Town Hall witnessed many freedom struggle movements in Bapatla. National leaders like Gandhiji, Jawaharlal Nehru, Dr Babu Rajendra Prasad addressed people from this venue.
Forum For Better Bapatla secretary PC Sai Babu said that Town Hall was the centre for all cultural and social activities in Bapatla.

The historical Town Hall was inaugurated on 17th July 1905, by the then Guntur District Collector Brodie.

Government Degree College In-charge Principal M Nagaraju, Commerce lecturer Subbaratnamma, Panasala and students participated.
