Nellore: A principal, working in a private school, in Kavali town, tried to swindle school funds of Rs 19.6 lakh which were collected as fee from teachers, and parents of the students as hand loans. Management of the school filed a complaint against the principal.

The Kavali cops took principal into custody and produced him before the Kavali court. According to sources, Chintagunta Sai Sudheer from Tenali in Guntur district had joined the school located on trunk road in Kavali town as principal two years ago. He maintained good relations with the parents and with the teachers in the school.

After summer vacation, Sai Sudheer started collecting fee from the parents and kept the amount with him. Further, he also started asking money as hand loan from the parents and teachers working in the school. He collected around Rs 6.6 lakh as fee from the parents and Rs 13 lakh as loans.

Management of the private school found that the principal was collecting money from the parents and not depositing with them. So, they lodged a complaint with Kavali I Town police station on Friday. Sub-Inspector Ankamma filed a case and produced Sai Sudheer in the court on Friday.
