Guntur: In a shocking incident, two money lenders, who loaned money to a teacher couple, have been withdrawing close to 80000 every month from their accounts in the name of loan interest.
According to the police, Mary Pushparaj and Appa Rao, both teachers, took a loan of Rs 20 lakh from one Kondal Rao and Rs 7.5 lakh from one Pratap Reddy in April 2012. For the last five years, the two money lenders were drawing Rs 57000 and Rs 23000 towards interest from their SB accounts using their ATM cards.
This amount was the interest amount, the money lenders claimed and demanded the principal amount to be paid. Left with no alternative, the couple approached Guntur Urban SP.
