Vijayawada: The department of Zoology and NSS Units I and II of Maris Stella College organised an awareness programme on Organ Donation in collaboration with Jeevandan, Andhra Pradesh on the college premises on Friday.
K Srinivasa Sastry, Administrative Officer and K Kiran, system technician of Jeevandan AP, informed that Jeevandan would organise a rally from Benz Circle to NTR University Health Sciences and about 200 volunteers would participate in the rally.
Later, Srinivas Sastry briefed students on organ donation and the importance of donating organ which would give a new lease of life.
The NSS students and the B Sc, CBZ II and III year students participated in the awareness seminar.
NSS Coordinators Y Supriya and Dr Rajendra Prasad, Dr Sr P Japamalai, K Sushma, M Ratna Kumar and members of the Zoology department were present.
