Construction workers stage dharna
House construction workers under the aegis of All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) on Sunday staged a massive rally at Vempalle in protest against the government for diverting the House Construction Workers Welfare Fund (HCWWF) to other activities in the State.
Kadapa: House construction workers under the aegis of All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) on Sunday staged a massive rally at Vempalle in protest against the government for diverting the House Construction Workers Welfare Fund (HCWWF) to other activities in the State.
The protesters raised slogans against the government for misusing HCWWF instead of utilising it for the welfare of house construction workers.
Speaking the occasion, AITUC district secretary A Naga Subba Reddy alleged that the government was planning to divert Rs 20 crore HCWWF to Uddanam victims and another Rs 300 crore to other activities.
He said that they have information over the government proposal of diverting the funds. He warned of intensifying the agitation if the government fails to withdraw that proposal.
