Vijayawada: IRS officer V Koteswaramma has been posted as new Executive Officer for Sri Durga Malleswara Swami temple here. The present EO M Padma has been given full charge of Managing Director of AP Brahmin Welfare Corporation and also in-charge commissioner for Endowments Department.

The State government made major changes in view of series of controversies in Durga temple. The recent silk sari missing issue also created a controversy. Though the State government appointed the Trust Board and an IAS officer for the administrative purpose, series of controversies have taken place in the temple during the last two years. The State government had to change two officers within a few months period.

Now the State government appointed an IRS officer V Koteswaramma as new EO for temple administration. She is native of Krishna district and has good reputation as sincere officer in the government circles. The State government decided to use her services for the temple administration taking permission from the Centre for two years on deputation.

Meanwhile, the State government sacked the Trust Board member Kodela Surya Latha from the Trust Board for involvement in sari missing issue. The State government issued orders on Thursday night in this regard. The State government has taken decision based on the reports given by Trust Board chairman Y Gouranga Babu and EO M Padma.

The meeting of the Trust Board members and the chairman took place at the office of MP Kesineni Srinivas here on Friday. They unanimously took decision to work with service motto by not entertaining controversies. They expressed concern over board member Kodela Surya Latha issue.

They said that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is keen to run the temple administration smoothly providing good services to devotees and without controversies.

On the other hand, AP Yadava Maha Sabha opposed the removal of Kodela Surya Latha from Trust Board. The leaders said that the inquiry should have been conducted more transparently before taking the decision.
