The YSR Congress Party has strongly criticized the Gurajala police for denying permission for its rally. The police on Monday arrested many YSRCP leaders who were trying to visit the mining areas on the pretext of maintaining law and order.

The YSRCP leaders alleged that emergency-like situation prevails in Gurajala and it was undemocratic to stop them from going to visit the illegal mining sites. “When the TDP meet was permitted barely three days ago, why is the YSRCP being denied permission," asked YSRCP in charge Kasu Mahesh Reddy.

He said that the YSRCP leaders were being arrested late in the night.
He said the TDP was behind the illegal mining in Gurajala and everything was happening with the active connivance of Yarapatineni Srinivasa Rao. He said the police have booked illegal mining cases against a farmer, who died in 2009. “How can a person dead in 2009 resort to Rs 80 crore worth of scam," he asked.

YSRCP Gopireddy Srinivas Reddy alleged that AP CM Chandrababu Naidu and IT minister N Lokesh are encouraging TDP leaders to indulge in corruption and exploit natural resources through illegal mining.
