Sacrifices of freedom fighters recalled at Moghalrajapuram in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: Freedom-fighter Katragadda Madhusudhana Rao’s statue at Moghalrajapuram was garlanded to mark the 72nd Independence Day celebrations here on Wednesday, according to the Cultural Centre of Vijayawada and Amaravati (CCVA) CEO Dr E Sianagi Reddy.
He recalled the main incidents like Mahatma Gandhi’s Vijayawada visit, Tricolor flag designer Pingali Venkaiah who hails from Krishna district, Katragadda Madhusudhana Rao’s role in freedom struggle.
He briefed various incidents about the freedom fighters for their self-less struggle and sacrifice for Independence. Madhusudana Rao’s son K Dattu participated in the ID celebrations.
Maalaxmi properties and ventures CEO Sandeep Mandava, Chimpiraiah, Vamsikrishna, Jaweed, Leena Chowdary and others participated in the programme.
