Ongole: CPI and CPM along with supporting parties like Jana Sena who are trying to form an alternate political platform in the state, announced to organise Maha Garjana in Vijayawada on September 15.

To create awareness on the meeting and gather support from the public, the CPI state secretary K Ramakrishna started bus yatra from Hindupuram in Anantapuram district on Wednesday and covers Kadapa, Kurnool, Chittoor, Nellore, Prakasam, Guntur and Krishna districts to reach Vijayawada by the September 15.

On September 1, the CPM state secretary P Madhu starts bus yatra from Visakhapatnam covering Vizianagaram, Srikakulam, East Godavari, West Godavari and Krishna district to reach Vijayawada by September 15.

Speaking at a press meet, the Prakasam district CPI president, ML Narayana, CPM East President Punati Anjaneyulu, other communist leaders said that the bus yatra by Ramakrishna enters the Prakasam district on September 8 and proceeds through Ramayapatnam port, Kandukur. A public meeting will be held at Ongole.

On September 9, the bus yatra goes through Chimakurthy, Podili, Kanigiri, Donakonda, Markapuram and a public meeting will be held at Yerragondapalem.

In the mean time, the communist leaders said that they would be organising a protest in front of Collectorate on September 4 and writing letters to all 12 MLAs in the district explaining the 9 promises made by the government to the poor and backward Prakasam district and 17 resolutions passed in the meeting held after the Veligonda padayatra by CPM senior leader BV Raghavulu, last week.

The leaders will be demanding the MLAs to fight for the welfare and special development fund for the district, in the Assembly session starting from September 6.

They asked the pubic to join them in lakhs for the Maha Garjana at Vijayawada and public meetings in the district to prove that the TDP, YSRCP and the Congress had no concern about the public and lost their right to rule the state.
