Rajamahendravaram: BJP MLA Dr Akula Satyananarayana has demanded the state government to reduce its sales tax on petrol, to reduce the petrol prices.
Though the prices of petrol increases basing on international prices, respective state governments should tone down its sales tax on petrol, instead of
criticising Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Speaking to reporters here on Tuesday, he advised Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu to direct Finance Minister Yanamala Rama Krishnudu to write a letter to Central government to bring petrol under GST, which helps to reduce its prices.
Instead of taking steps from state government's side to reduce petrol prices, it was not good on the part of Naidu to criticise Modi for the escalation of petrol prices.
How can the Chief Minister who boasts of being senior with 40 years of experience trying to get political mileage by throwing the blame on the Prime Minister, he questioned.
The people were more intellectual than politicians and they know well than politicians on any issue and advised Naidu to put an end to unnecessary comments against Prime Minister Modi.
