Vijayawada: VMC Commissioner J Nivas visited division No 48 (Central Warehouse area) and enquired people about their health on Friday.
He directed the malaria department staff to conduct anti-larva operation and spray anti-larva oil in the surroundings.
He explained that through periodic domestic plans, they would totally control mosquitoes.
He told the residents to take all precautionary measures to keep the surroundings clean and not to keep old unused articles with waste water which would be breeding grounds for larva.
Later, the Commissioner visited 50th division Kedareswarapeta and monitored the garbage collection and separation of wet and dry garbage.
Corporater Vijaya Kumar, chief medical officer Dr Arjuna Rao, executive engineer Koteswara Rao, health officer Dr Madhusudhana Rao and others were present.
