Rajamahendravaram: Rastriya Praja Congress (RPC) founder president Meda Srinivas has termed Justice CY Somayajulu Commission report on Godavari Pushkara stampede as an attempt to protect Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu as well as the government.

“It is nothing but to insulting the people and the people are unhappy over the report which was cooked in favour of Naidu,” he said.

Speaking to reporters in Press Club here on Thursday, he said though as many as 29 pilgrims died in the stampede on July 14, 2015 on the first day of Godavari Maha Pushkaram, the government did not take any action on any government employee and also failed to fix responsibility.

The Commission's report also not mentioned any important points and blamed media, astrologers and religious preachers for the mishap, for which it has to feel shy.
