Srisailam: The 11-day ‘Sivanandalahari Pravachan’ by Samavedam Shanmuka Sarma organised by the Srisailam Devasthanam, as part of Hindu ‘dharma pracharam’, concluded on Sunday in Akkamma Mahadevi Alankara Mandapam. During the discourse on Sunday, Sarma threw light on Lord Siva, describing him as a storehouse ‘Saraswathi Nidhi’. To get his blessings, serious ‘dhyanam’ and ‘japam’ were required.

He said Srisailam has history dating back to ages, pointing out that Jagadguru Sankaracharya had written ‘Sivanandalahari in this shrine. Sarma advised the gathering to read this holy book which helps control the being and imbibe ‘Siva bhakthi’. The temple Executive Officer Ramachandra Murthy, officials, archakas and veda pandits felicitated Sarma and his wife, presenting them photographs of the deities, along with silk cloth and ‘prasadam’.
