AKNU teams to play for CM’s Cup-2018

Rajamahendravaram: Adikavi Nannaya University (AKNU) vice-chancellor Prof Murru Mutyala Naidu has said that the university students are bringing name and fame to the university by participating in state and national level tournaments.

He congratulated Kho Kho team of the university here on Tuesday. The team was selected for Andhra Pradesh Interuniversity Tournament for CM's Cup-2018.

He expressed confidence that the team would come with flying colours in the tournament.

All the students were selected from the university affiliated colleges in East and West Godavari districts.

The team represents the university in the tournament scheduled to be held at Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupathi on October 24.

Another team would also be selected for Basketball tournament supposed to be held on October 22, he averred.

The university has been encouraging the students to take part in sports and imparting necessary training to them, he said.

He asked the teaching fraternity to inculcate the habit of playing sports, which benefits a lot to the students in their future.

AKNU, the largest university in the state, was proving its mettle in various fileds, he added.

Professors K Sriramesh, KS Rao, Persis, Registrar Dr T Ashok and others were present.
