Pithapuram: Devotees on Wednesday thronged Uma Ramalingeswara Swamy temple at Durgada in Gollaprolu mandal to witness Goddess Lalithadevi adorned 365 sarees with varied hues and designs as part of Dasara navratri celebrations.
Interestingly, each household in the village present one saree to the presiding deity on the occasion of Maha Navami.
They believe that the age-old tradition will bless their fortunes. Priests Dattu, Veerababu took part in the process.
Later special puja performed with holy water.
They said that Maha Nivedana with 108 types of traditional snacks and adornment of 1108 bangles to the Goddess will take place on Dasami day i.e., October 17.
