Vijayawada: Commissioner J Nivas has expressed his dissatisfaction on the field staff and the concerned officials over the unhygienic conditions at the Krishnaveni Ghats and toilets arranged for the Bhavani devotees visiting Goddess Kanaka Durga Temple on the occasion of the Dasara Navatri celebrations.

The Commissioner on Friday said that all the departments should work in coordination and keep the surroundings clean.

As part of inspection of the city, the Commissioner visited Padmavati Ghat, Krishnaveni Ghat, Dhobi Ghat, Shaniswaralayam and Durga Ghat.

On observing water packets, garbage, Bhavani devotees’ cloths at Krishnaveni Ghat, the Commissioner expressed ire and ordered the concerned Ghat in-charge, field staff, workers and officials to work with coordination and keep the surroundings clean.

He ordered the concerned staff to provide water to the temporary toilets arranged at Krishnaveni Ghat and keep the premises clean.

The Commissioner later inspected the footpath construction work of the flyover from Punnami Ghat to Head Water Works and told the concerned staff to complete the work soon.

He further ordered the staff to start beautification work soon after the construction work was completed.
